Terms of Service
Last updated: October 2026
Smart Fencing Calculator (smartfencingcalculator.com) is published by Dixon App Studio LLC ("we", "us"). These Terms explain what you can expect from the site and what we ask of you in return. They sit alongside our Privacy Policy, Cookie Policy, Disclaimer and Affiliate Disclosure.
1. Acceptance
By using smartfencingcalculator.com you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please stop using the site.
2. What the Calculators Do
Each calculator takes the measurements and options you enter and applies a published formula: fence length divided by post spacing for posts, rails per section, pickets per foot, bags of concrete per hole, strands Γ length for wire, and so on. Most pages show the formula and a worked example so you can check the arithmetic yourself. Cost results multiply those quantities by typical price ranges, or by the prices you type in.
The calculations run in your browser. Estimates you choose to save are kept in your browser's local storage on your own device; clearing your browser data removes them.
3. What the Calculators Don't Guarantee
Results are estimates for planning, not quotes, engineering or a substitute for a site visit. They do not know:
- your exact property line, slope, soil, rock or buried utilities;
- local frost depth, wind load, height limits, pool-barrier rules or HOA covenants;
- what lumber, vinyl, steel or labor costs at your supplier this week;
- how much material you will lose to cuts, warped boards or mistakes.
Built-in prices are typical ranges and can be out of date. Measure on site, add waste allowance, call 811 before digging, check permits with your building department, and get written quotes before you buy or hire. You are responsible for decisions you make with the results.
4. No Warranty
The site, its calculators and its articles are provided "as is" and "as available". We work to keep formulas and prices sensible and fix errors when they are reported, but we do not promise that every result is accurate, complete, current or fit for a particular purpose, or that the site will always be available.
5. Limitation of Liability
To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for losses or costs that come from relying on calculator results, articles or products shown on the site, including over- or under-ordered materials, contractor charges or rework.
6. Advertising
The site is free because it shows ads served by Google AdSense. Ads are labelled and are chosen by the ad network, not by us; seeing an ad is not a recommendation. How ad cookies work, and how to opt out of personalised ads, is explained in the Privacy Policy and Cookie Policy.
7. Affiliate Links
Some product links, mostly to Amazon, are affiliate links. If you buy through one we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. As an Amazon Associate we earn from qualifying purchases. Prices, stock and product details on other sites are set by those sellers and can change; check them before you order. See the Affiliate Disclosure for details.
8. Acceptable Use
You are welcome to use the calculators as often as you like, for your own projects or for quoting your customers, and to print or share your results. Please don't:
- scrape, bulk-download or mirror the site or its calculators;
- send automated traffic that slows the site down for others;
- click ads or affiliate links you have no interest in, or ask others to;
- try to break, probe or bypass the site's security;
- republish our articles or calculator code as your own.
Quoting a short passage with a link back to the page is fine.
9. Intellectual Property
The articles, images, calculator code and design are owned by Dixon App Studio LLC unless otherwise noted. You may not reproduce or republish them without written permission. Product names and trademarks belong to their owners.
10. Our Apps and Other Sites
We also publish a Smart Fencing Calculator app on Google Play and calculator sites for other trades. The app is also covered by Google Play's terms. Links to third-party sites are provided for convenience; we are not responsible for their content.
11. Changes
We may update these Terms as the site changes. The date at the top shows the latest version, and continued use of the site means you accept it.
12. Contact
Questions about these Terms, a result that looks wrong, or a copyright concern? Email support@dixonappstudio.com or use the Support page. Including the page address and the numbers you entered helps us reproduce a calculation problem quickly.
